SO, I am doing my first open house in South Brunswick ever. I’ve only lived in this town for 4 years and counting, but since my focus was on Union and Essex County Real Estate, I feel like I am starting all over again. New town (sort of), new street names to remember, same sales cycle.
I took video of the house that I am selling, which is 37 Raleigh Rd. I love the spaciousness of this home. When I sell a house, I imagine what it would be like to live in it and sell it’s best features based on some my personal opinion and common likes and dislikes.
Since I work from home on occasion, I can imagine that the person who buys this home would really appreciate having a bonus den or office that’s connected to the formal living room and family room. I know that when I am home, I spend the majority of my time in the office or family room. The other added bonus is the open floor plan of the kitchen and dining room. One uniqueness that I like is the access of the half bath directly to the yard for when you are entertaining. Your pool guests in particular can access the house and change clothes before entering the rest of the house.
Pluses: Yard is fenced in. The lot size is great. The house already has an above ground pool and even though I don’t particularly care for a pool, others might. The yard also has an awning and patio for summer fun. 2 full baths and a half is more than sufficient. Den or office and family room. If there was one drawback, and I wouldn’t even call is a drawback per say, but there’s no basement. Although, I am not a fan of basements since they are generally damp places. The family room and den make up for not having a basement.
Well, so far so good. Three guests at the open house and one agent with clients. The only thing that concerns me about today is the idea that someone removed my directional signs and the BP gas station employee asking me not to place a sign on his lawn (it’s not his lawn when there’s a public sidewalk), but I let that one go and chaulked it up to everyone has their own opinion. Juan, my fiance, who helps me with my open house set-up tells me that he didn’t see the signs I placed out this morning, which I hope to find them where I place them when I get back. Until next week.
